I had a wonderful time at the Capital Brewery on June 21, 2011 taking pictures of this fantastic event. They raised $5000 to help build the FEED Kitchens facility in Madison. They hope to increase the availability of local, healthy and affordable food. Sounds Like an awesome Idea to me! to learn more about FEED you can go to their website.

There was a bit of rain but that did not stop the merry making. There was to much delicious food to be eaten and beer to be drunk! I still had the little one in the tummy so I sadly had to skip on the beer.

OK so it has been a long time since I have been on the Blog, or Photographing really anything. This summer was hot and I was BIG!! However, now that Miss Phoebe is born it is back to business. Well kinda, I am slowly working, work back into the game plan. I love my little Mushie, she is my new number one!!! But as she is my first, we are still figuring out how to time manage this Mommy thing with the Photography Business thing. But I thing we are starting to get it down! Yahoo!!! for mommy and Phoebe!

This last weekend I took a workshop with Micheal Mowbray, his Flash Dancing Workshop. I was on the outs a little as I am a Nikon shooter and everyone else uses Canon. However, I had a blast downtown with the models and the rest of the photographers that were there. Here are a few shot from the day.

WI Photographer - Melissa and Zeb’s Wedding - Whitetail Lodge, St. Germain

I had the great pleasure to be able to do two weddings this year in the North woods; one of them being for this great couple, Melissa and Zeb. We really lucked out with outside pictures, as both Thur. and Fri. up there were rather cold and really windy. However, Sat. was Beautiful, still a little chilly for the girls in their dresses, but they toughed it out and we got some great stuff. Good Job Guys!!

Engagement Session…. Now what?

So the Engagement Session has long since changed from the headshots for the newspaper of our parent’s generation. Some now have outfit changes, multiple locations… the works!

Now that you have all these really great photos, what can you do with them besides the few pints you get for yourself and Mom and Dad? Well there is the Guest Signing Book or what about for the tables at your wedding. Check out these too cute ideas! What a way to use those cool new photos!

And if you are really on the ball you could make signs with the numbers on them to hold or strategically place in the corner if the images, or peeking out from behind you.

The possibilities are endless, BE CREATIVE!

WI Photographer - Valerie and Curtis's Wedding, The Waters

On July 29th of this year I had my most important wedding to date. … My most beloved brother Curtis finally made Val his wife. I had the choice, did I want to be in the wedding, or did I want to photograph it…….hummm, that’s an easy one. As the Photographer, I got to spend all day with my brother and I love to take pictures!

The marriage took place at the Waters in Minocqua, WI. It was a beautiful outside ceremony, with the reception under a tent right after. As I spent most of my childhood in that area, I love it when I get to go back, and I was lucky enough to have two weddings in the North Woods this summer.

Curtis and Val…. I send my love to you both, and thank you for having me as your photographer!

Free Family Portraits - Giving back to those who give for all of us.

This fall I have decided to, in my own small way; give back to the families of service men and women.

In October and November I will be offering a free family portrait to families who have loved ones deployed or are about to be deployed. I know how hard it can be with loved ones gone. It is my hope to bring a little fun to your family.

Melissa And Zeb's Engagement at Bond Falls

I met Melissa and Zeb up at Bond Falls, MI for their Engagement Shoot. What a pretty place, wish I would have brought some hiking shoes for when we were done. Nice pick Melissa! We did some shots there and then went back to the couple’s house for a few in the backyard, “that’s where he proposed!”

You did a great Jobs guys, I can’t wait to get back up to Eagle River for the wedding!

Jill and Nate's Wedding at Sugarland Farm

On July 10, 2010, I had the pleasure of photographing a dear friend and his beautiful bride get married. It was a beautiful day and they picked a fabulous place for the ceremony, right under one of the biggest trees I have ever seen. You just know that tree has seen a few couples tie the knot.

Good luck to you both in the years to come and may your love for each other grow and flourish bigger than that beautiful tree where it all began.

Krissy and Jeff's Mini Engagement

Went up to the Cities last weekend and had such a nice time. Did some shopping at Ikea, boy do they have all kids of wonderful junk! I just love that place.

Really I went up to for wedding talk. Krissy and Jeff's wedding is in November so we talked out some of the details and did a few Engagement shots. We went out to a park for theses shots and to get out of the crazy reflecting sun we hit the ski trail, and i almost got hit by a skier! Fun was had by all, except maybe that skier, he seemed a little cranky.

I also got to see the church, it's a great find! My head is turning with all kinds of photo ideas for the Wedding, I cant wait!

Jill and Nate's Engagement

Jill and Nate met online, just one more success story for this not so new way of dating! I am a big Fan considering it's how I met Joe. The plan for pictures was to meet down by the Memorial Union and do some fun stuff on Lake Mendota. It is February, in WI, so it was cold, and the wind was really blowing, so when we got down there they decided.... ahhhh... inside! We still made it fun, I think Nate even enjoyed it a little.

Misty and Christopher's Engagement

Misty met Christopher on a trip to the UK and after flights back and forth for both of them he proposed to her in NYC on top of the Empire Sate Building. Ohhhh, how cute! So this summer, he is moving to the US and they are making it official.

I can not wait for the wedding!

Katie and Brandon's Wedding

OK one more updated wedding and ten we will move on. This wedding was in August of 2009. I was lucky enough to go to Estes Park, Colorado for this one. Now this wedding was a little different, as the bride was my cousin. However, Katie has such a laid back personality she made the whole day so much fun! I know some people don't like to do family or close friends weddings, but I love it. As a guest you get to spend what, maybe 5 mins. with the couple all day......as the photographer I spend the whole day with them. I love it! This summer I have two family weddings! Katie's sister Kris, and my brother. I know, I know, you think I should be in my brother's wedding....well I got to pick, wear a "bridesmaid dress" or wear something normal and take pictures. I will take door number two Jack! HeHe

Stephanie and Jay's Wedding

and I had a lot of fun. Before the reception, we made a stop at the Vintage bar where they first met.
